Total Solar Eclipse 2024 Retreat

Come experience the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024 with Cross Trails Ministry!  Both Camp Chrysalis and Ebert Ranch will be in complete darkness for over 4 minutes!  

This once in a lifetime event will be paired with Cross Trails hospitality and activities to make an unforgettable long weekend. Participate in eclipse learning sessions and camp activities, and then join us for daily devotions and worships. Choose to do as much or as little as you would like and enjoy some great family time!

Due to the unique nature of this event. We are reserving space differently. When you reserve a room, you will get space for 8 to 10 people for four nights, with ten meals, daily snacks, camp activities and eclipse glasses included. People with reserved rooms can arrive Friday, April 5th after 5 pm, and stay until Tuesday April 9th at noon. 

At Chrysalis:
Quad Cabins at Camp Chrysalis have space for ten people per room in extra-long bunkbeds. There are private bathrooms in each room, and a central gathering room for each set of four rooms with a shared refrigerator.  A flat fee of $2,250 per room includes the room, meals, snacks, activities and eclipse glasses.  (FULL)

The A-Frame Cabins at Camp Chrysalis have space for ten people per room in extra-long bunkbeds with a private bathroom. Upper and lower cabins are available. A flat fee of $1,900 per room includes the room, meals, activities and eclipse glasses. (8 rooms available)

At Ebert Ranch:
Lela Haus at Ebert is a quad cabin with space for 8 people in each of the four rooms. There are private bathrooms in each room, and a shared central gathering room with a full kitchen available for all Lela Haus guests. A flat fee of $2,250 per room includes the room, meals, snacks, activities and eclipse glasses.  (3 rooms available)

The Bunkhouse at Ebert Ranch has a male and a female side with extra-long twin beds.  Each side can house up to 15 people for this retreat. Bathrooms are semi-private. Each side is available for a flat fee of $1,800. (2 sides available)  

Reserve your room now, and in September you will be able to add your participants. No refunds will be issue unless we can fill that space with someone else.

Click the Register Now link above and follow the prompts.  You will need to select a participant or add a new person in order to move on. Then select Total Solar Eclipse 2024 and make your housing selection.  You will only need to select one person to reserve the room.  The rest of your participants can be registered in September. Room reservations must be made online and cannot be confirmed until our office receives payment.  Camperships are not available for this retreat. Non-Lutherans are welcome!

Become a leader in your church, community, and the world!  Review your leadership skills and practice living and speaking your faith as a role model for younger campers.  Your first week will be at Ebert Ranch with other LYLE campers reviewing hot to mentor and be a leader.  Your second week will be at Camp Chrysalis where you will help with younger camper groups during the day and then share and process your experience with your LYLE group in the evening.

Previous LYLE II Experience Required.

The Lutheran Youth Leadership Experience (LYLE) is a program that combines leadership skill development, service and each individual’s God-given gifts and interests. In the context of camp, LYLE’s experience challenging, experiential learning sessions designed to help them develop useful skills that will empower them as leaders.

Explore and practice your leadership skills! Reach beyond yourself as you learn peer ministry and discover the social and spiritual leadership skills that make it possible. Start off with a week at Ebert Ranch and then finish with a week at Chrysalis! No previous LYLE experience needed.
